Job Description We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team supporting the Bank's Financial Business Support function with a focus on Cost Basis operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in financial records review, data accuracy, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and a proven ability to process transactions, research and resolve cost basis discrepancies, and deliver accurate updates to tax lot records .
Responsibilities:
Process routine and standard transactions per established procedures across operations areas such as analysis, report generation, trade and payment processing, data entry, and account updates. Support the Cost Basis Team by researching and updating cost basis in the Global Tax Lots system based on branch inquiries submitted via New Service Gateway and email. Investigate and resolve transactional breaks that cause inaccurate cost basis, performing accurate manual updates as needed. Provide quality service to internal partners and external clients while meeting accuracy and timeliness standards. Escalate complex issues to Operations Team Manager and/or Supervisor and contribute to knowledge sharing with less experienced team members.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to interpret and apply relevant rules, regulations, policies, and standards, including IRS requirements for covered securities and tax lots. Strong attention to detail with experience working with financial statements and records. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment on when to escalate.
Experience level:
1+ year in financial operations, tax reporting operations, or similar roles.
Preferred Skills:
Willingness to work overtime during peak periods, especially Tax Season (Jan-Apr), as offered to support business needs. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with a client service mindset. Ability to work as an individual contributor within a team environment and maintain a professional attitude in a fast-paced setting. Why BCforward?
