Our products are sold and distributed throughout the U.S. and Canada. Sugar Foods manufactures and packages croutons, tortilla chips, crispy toppings, as well as cheese-based toppings. Additionally, Sugar Foods packages a variety of items including sugar, sweeteners, powdered creamer, and dried fruits and nuts. Position Summary - Accounting Analyst The purpose of this role is to provide financial support for the Sugar Foods manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for performing monthly closings, analysis, and account reconciliations, the analysis of results and preparation of forecast for the plant, capital and technical project accounting, standard cost and budget development and participate in financial process improvement activities. Key Responsibilities Inventory control - manage & report on inventory activity, PPV, variance analysis, obsolescence exposure Develop and/or update raw material costs based on most recent invoice prices from vendor. Develop and/or update manufacturing labor and overhead rates. Assist manufacturing and document control with maintaining and updating bills of material and routing. Prepare weekly and monthly analysis of production scrap, material variances, cycle count variances and purchase price variances. Monthly reconciliation of AP Clearing Inv account and AP accrual account. Assist in close-out production work orders. Perform detailed project capital and expense tracking Assist with the preparation of monthly forecasting and annual operating plan Review and analyze facility maintenance spend Perform month end and year end closing activities Assist in the development of plant BOMs, routings, and standards Assist in developing the plant financial operating plan Prepare and analyze month end reports and project updates Work with IT team to help resolve system issues Reconcile related general ledger accounts Recommend improvements to financial processes procedures for plant operations Assist with performing financial and strategic analysis to enable accurate business decisions and or investments Support cost reduction and working capital opportunities May be required to perform other related duties as assigned Qualification and Experience Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related discipline 5+ years of financial accounting experience. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Experience with cost accounting standard costing, budgeting, forecasting, month-end and year-end close activities, and working with inventory management Strong analytical and communication skills Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to shift priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel formulas, V Lookups, Pivot tables, PowerPoint, Outlook Knowledge of High Radius and ERP systems preferred Ability to work independently and in a team environment Ability to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally Sugar Foods LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
