full-time Position Overview Jefferies is seeking a highly motivated Investment Banking Analyst to join its Power, Utilities & Infrastructure (PUI) team in New York. Analysts work closely with senior bankers on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic advisory assignments for clients across the power, utilities, renewable energy, and broader infrastructure sectors. The firm's lean deal team structure provides significant exposure to transaction execution, client interaction, and senior leadership. What Analysts Can Expect Jefferies analysts are given meaningful responsibility from day one. Working within lean deal teams, analysts gain direct exposure to senior bankers and client engagements while developing advanced financial modeling, valuation, and transaction execution skills. The role offers substantial opportunities to contribute to live deals, strategic advisory projects, and business development initiatives across a rapidly evolving sector. Key Responsibilities Perform financial valuation analyses, including discounted cash flow (DCF), precedent transactions, and comparable company analyses. Build and maintain complex financial models for M&A, debt, and equity transactions. Prepare pitch books, management presentations, offering memoranda, and other marketing materials. Conduct industry, market, and company research across the power, utilities, and infrastructure sectors. Analyze detailed corporate and financial information to support strategic recommendations. Participate in the execution of financings, mergers, acquisitions, and other advisory assignments. Monitor sector trends and market developments affecting clients and transactions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record. Ideally 1-2 years of investment banking or similar experience in the PUI sector(s) Strong financial modeling, accounting, analytical, and valuation skills. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and teamwork.
