Job Description

Description Maps Credit Union seeks a Commercial Credit Analyst to assist our Commercial Relationship Officers by analyzing borrower and guarantor financial information, tax returns, and compiling projections all while following Credit Union policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines. Credit Analysts assist with the completion of credit recommendations, respond to inquiries, resolve issues, and obtain additional documents needed to complete loan underwriting and annual loan reviews.
Key responsibilities include:
Spread and analyze personal and business financial information as well as entity ownership structures to understand creditworthiness of proposed loan. Recommend loan structures and terms to loan officers. Assist with the development and maintenance of the Credit Union's commercial loan portfolio. Prepare Credit Recommendation, with ability to complete 100% of the document including financial spreadsheets, cash flow analysis, global cash flow, and RMA industry analysis. Maintains a thorough knowledge of commercial loan and business deposit products and pricing. Complete timely and thorough monitoring of commercial loans through periodic reviews and continual analysis. Includes ability-to-repay analysis, collateral inspections, risk rating review, and the administration of the loan covenants and proper documentation. Provide support to credit union members and staff in explaining commercial credit policies and procedures. Provide superior customer service, building and maintaining positive working relationships with members, borrowers, and their representatives. Compile and maintain accurate and complete files on all business loans. Responsible for assisting with monitoring and resolving delinquent business loan amounts or business loans determined to have an impairment that may affect repayment or the Credit Union's position. Maintain and protect all sensitive data utilizing the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism. Consistently display respect for all areas of diversity and levels of knowledge, and represent the Credit Union in industry and professional associations, community organizations, local business groups, etc. Follow regulatory and policy compliance requirements, which include those efforts in compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations, Identity Theft Red Flags and other compliance-related policies.
Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills and the capacity to integrate diverse objectives with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Thorough understanding of the principals of accounting, finance and financial analysis. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone. Willingness and ability to travel within service area to visit borrowers and conduct site visits. Knowledge and understanding of commercial lending laws, regulations, and procedures. Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; intermediate computer skills, including the use of word processing and spreadsheet software applications, with emphasis on Excel proficiency. Ability to retain a broad knowledge of tasks performed in department. Ability to take initiative; good problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain flexible in order to adapt to changes in work environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to work with co-workers, members, and outside agencies professionally and tactfully.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience and industry specific training a relevant field such as Finance, Business Lending, Business Administration, or Small Business Management. 3-5 years of similar or related commercial credit analysis experience preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills; strong analytical and research skills. Must possess a valid Oregon driver's license. Must be bondable.
Starting Non-Exempt Range:
$29.00•$37.69 per hour, depending on experience.
Typical schedule:
Monday•Friday, 8:00 AM•5:00 PM. This position is fully onsite.
