We are looking for a Financial Analyst to support financial performance, planning, and decision-making for a regional homebuilding operation in the Moon Township area. This role partners with financial leaders to translate financial data into practical recommendations that improve profitability, guide investment decisions, and strengthen operational results. The ideal candidate brings strong modeling skills, sound accounting knowledge, and the ability to communicate insights clearly across multiple business functions.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the full financial performance of the assigned region, providing analysis and guidance across several homebuilding divisions.
  • Lead budgeting, monthly forecast updates, long-range planning, and other FP&A activities to help leadership evaluate business performance and future opportunities.
  • Partner with regional and division executives to support strategic decisions with financial insights, scenario evaluations, and performance trends.
  • Build and maintain detailed pro formas for land opportunities, including sensitivity testing, competitive comparisons, and reviews of community results to inform deal structure.
  • Apply advanced financial modeling and data analysis to identify trends, improve processes, and recommend practical actions that enhance business outcomes.
  • Evaluate land financing alternatives and present well-supported recommendations to regional and executive leadership.
  • Monitor weekly sales and backlog margin performance expected to close within the month, and coordinate with operations leaders to investigate unusual results.
  • Analyze construction and permitting cycle times, inventory aging, and product mix performance to improve efficiency and support stronger financial returns.
  • Participate in monthly financial reviews, KPI audits, and cross-functional discussions with purchasing, land, production, accounting, and data teams to highlight risks, reduce cost overlap, and uncover savings opportunities.
  • Review leaseback arrangements and other financial details, explaining margin impact, pricing considerations, and key terms to management.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, planning, or economic analysis.
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and the ability to interpret financial statements accurately.
  • Advanced Excel skills with demonstrated experience creating and maintaining detailed financial models.
  • Proven ability to perform variance analysis, ad hoc analysis, and data-driven financial evaluation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings to leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in public accounting, manufacturing, real estate, or homebuilding environments is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with data analysis techniques that support trend identification and business performance improvement.
