Payroll Accounting Analyst Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Payroll Accounting Analyst to join our client to support accurate and compliant payroll operations while partnering closely with Finance and HR teams. This role focuses on delivering timely payroll processing, detailed analysis, and strong controls across complex employee populations. The analyst will play a key role in data integrity, reporting, and reconciliation efforts that support business decision making. This is a 100 percent onsite, temp to hire opportunity based in Philadelphia, PA.Compensation:
$30 to $33.50 per hourWork Schedule:
Monday through Friday during normal business hours with flexibility to work later as payroll issues arise Key Responsibilities of thePayroll Accounting Analyst:
- Deliver end to end weekly and bi weekly payroll processing for union and non union employee groups, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Analyze, validate, and reconcile payroll data using advanced Excel tools to identify discrepancies and support audit readiness
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations by reviewing pay rates, deductions, classifications, and final pay calculations
- Perform general ledger reconciliations, prepare supporting documentation, and generate routine and ad hoc payroll reports for internal partners
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, Benefits, IT, and external vendors to resolve payroll issues, support system enhancements, and contribute to special projects Qualifications and Skills for the
Payroll Accounting Analyst:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required, with a Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Five or more years of hands on payroll experience within a multi state environment, including exposure to union payrolls
- Advanced proficiency in Excel with demonstrated experience using pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data analysis techniques
- Experience working with payroll and timekeeping systems such as Lawson, ADP, PeopleSoft, or SAP, along with general ledger reconciliation
- Strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast paced environment Why Join Us?
