- Deductions Analyst - Trade
- , you'll play a vital role in ensuring trade deductions are accurate, compliant, and resolved efficiently—helping protect revenue while strengthening partnerships with our customers.
- Key Responsibilities
- + Research, analyze, and resolve trade deductions to determine validity and appropriate next steps + Verify deductions are set up accurately, including amounts, customers, and reference numbers + Identify root causes related to pricing, coupons, post‑audit, scan, billbacks, ad fees, and off‑invoice allowances + Ensure valid promotions exist in the Trade Promotion System and deductions meet proof‑of‑performance requirements + Prevent duplicate deductions and ensure accurate application of trade agreements + Settle approved trade deductions and check requests in the Trade Promotion System with correct GL allocation + Initiate collection correspondence and pursue repayment for unauthorized deductions, escalating internally when needed + Pull invoices and proof‑of‑performance documentation from customer portals, brokers, or internal partners + Match repayments to open deductions and research discrepancies to ensure accurate resolution + Generate deduction reporting and share insights with internal business partners + Identify trends and recurring issues such as missed allowances or rate discrepancies and communicate findings proactively + Collaborate with teammates on process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives •Qualifications•What We're Looking For•Education & Experience•+ Two‑year accounting degree or certificate (or equivalent experience) with foundational knowledge of credits, debits, collections, and data entry + 3-5 years of Accounts Receivable experience, with strong emphasis on •trade deduction resolution and collections•+ Experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, deduction processing, proof of performance, and account reconciliation •Skills & Capabilities•+ Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills + High attention to detail with strong organizational and time‑management abilities + Self‑motivated, curious, and professional with clear written communication skills + Comfortable navigating multiple systems and collaborating across functions + Intermediate proficiency in Excel and Word + Experience with Order‑to‑Cash or trade/deduction management tools (e.
