The Financial Intelligence Analyst Lead is responsible for supporting the advancement of the overall financial performance of Geisinger Health and its subsidiaries. This role will inform decision making and ensure goal achievement by providing service and product line reporting and analytics through a OneGeisinger lens; and support operating and capital forecasts, strategic service planning, business plan financial models, monthly operating reviews, and financial improvement initiatives. The role provides leadership within the department by mentoring analysts and assisting to develop a high performing team. The Lead must be customer-oriented, self-directed, and work collaboratively with peers internal and external to support enterprise financial, operational, and strategic goals.
Job Duties:
Provides self-service tools for use by Finance, Operational Leaders, Strategy, and others, leveraging the capabilities native in the financial analytics, planning, and performance software deployed within the organization. Works with the Finance Partners and Financial Planning and Analytics teams to improve and promote accurate cost accounting methodologies for RVU development, indirect expense allocations and other cost accounting drivers related to the business units. Provides regular presentations of financial performance to operational leadership as requested. Develops and promotes OneGeisinger analytical reporting to drive utilization and cost reduction, including medical spend for value-based care contracts. Provides episode analysis to understand utilization and cost of patient cohorts across the full care continuum. Provides analytic support to finance and operational partners to understand trends in volume, revenue, and expenses, including variance reporting. Maintains repository for utilization and financial data to support operational and financial initiatives. Supports financial acumen education for operational teams. Supports the Finance Partner teams with business units' targeted quarterly forecasting, capital forecasting and long-range financial model goals. Works closely with the Finance Partner, Financial Planning, Strategic Planning, operational leadership, and other teams in development of financial models for capital requests, business plans and retrospective financial reviews of those plans. Performs and manages advanced analytical tasks, data modeling, and statistical analysis. Participates in finance department improvement projects and initiatives, including information systems and analytical tools/models, design, set up, implementation and stabilization. Participates in special projects, reporting requirements and committees as assigned to support finance and/or operational initiatives. Assists Director with prioritizing and delegating workload, providing performance reviews, goal setting, training, and development of analytics team. Coordinates assigned project work and teams to ensure accurate and timely achievement of department goals. Develops and maintains strong business partner relationships across the Geisinger enterprise. Actively seeks input from members of the management and finance teams when appropriate. Supports colleagues throughout finance assuming positive intent and acting as an ambassador for all areas of finance when working with key stakeholders. Collaborates with other leaders to promote Finance Strategic Aspirations. Work is typically performed in an office environment.
