clients in close collaboration with Apella Advisors and the broader Investments & Research team. This position is responsible for executing portfolio trading, monitoring cash flows, rebalancing client accounts, analyzing portfolios, and implementing tax-aware investment recommendations that align with the firm's evidence-based investment philosophy. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and technical skills with exceptional attention to detail, thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, and is passionate about using data, technology, and sound investment principles to help clients achieve their financial goals. You'll receive unparalleled training and education into the best practices of investment portfolio analysis and how to leverage all the technological and financial resources that comes with being an Apella employee. Where you'll work: This role will be located on our West Hartford, CT - based team and be expected to be available for in-office meetings with some remote work flexibility as determined by your specific team leadership. What you'll be responsible for: Manage day-to-day portfolio trading for multiple offices/financial advisors using trading software Monitor daily portfolio cash inflows/outflows and reallocate capital deposits as necessary Analyze existing client and new prospect portfolios to form diversification recommendations aligned with Apella's investment philosophy Recommend tax efficient portfolio adjustments aligned with Apella's investment philosophy Utilize portfolio management and trading software daily to create trade allocation recommendations Create manual trade recommendations without the use of trading software when needed Provide independent, researched insight on financial market conditions and forecasts Deliver operational and administrative support to Apella Advisors as needed Ensure all client touchpoints are addressed with an exceptional client service mentality and detail Establish and maintain organized files and records in adherence with compliance requirements Prepare agenda materials and attend meetings as requested by the Advisory team or firm leadership What qualifications we're looking for: A four-year degree in business, engineering, finance, economics or similar analytical field required 3+ years of investment management or trading operations experience Series 65 is preferred (not required) Knowledge of various investment vehicles & asset classes (i.e. ETFs, Mutual Funds, Derivatives, etc) Experience determining and mitigating tax consequences as it relates to trading strategies Exceptional critical thinking abilities and attention to detail Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong listening skills; professional demeanor Strong organizational, prioritization and project management skills Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook); ERP and CRM software Eager to learn and able to adapt quickly to multiple technology platforms and rapid change What we offer: A base salary range of $70-80K with discretionary bonus and the opportunity to gain exposure to
