Job Description
DescriptionAre you curious about how financial data can shape business decisions at scale? We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who thrives on building reports, creating financial models, and translating complex data into actionable recommendations. In this role, you will partner with business leaders to drive data-informed decision-making, improve financial processes, and deliver insights that directly impact how Amazon operates. Global Logistics supports Amazon-managed Inbound transportation service offerings across Domestic and Import vendors and sellers. This role will sit at the cross section of our FP&A, Operations, Product, Controllership and Accounting partners to support regular financial reporting (weekly business reviews, month end close reviews), own commentary for leadership reviews, and deep dive into operational trends within the business to derive insights that propels the business forward. Key job responsibilities
Basic Qualifications
- Build and maintain financial reports and models to address business questions, ensuring accuracy through regular audits and root-cause analysis of discrepancies.
- Analyze financial data using tools such as Excel and SQL to extract insights, identify trends, and provide recommendations that support leadership decision-making.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities that strengthen financial controls, reduce defects, and scale reporting capabilities across the organization.
- Collaborate with Operations, Product and Finance business partners to understand operational challenges, propose solutions, and communicate financial findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Lead projects with limited oversight to deliver value-add enhancements, maintain documentation and standard operating procedures, and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experiencePreferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of of financial reporting tools (Cognos, Redshift)
