Job Description
Iron Oak Energy, a leading provider of proppant to the oil and gas industry with a differentiated footprint of low-cost, logistically advantaged mining and terminal assets serving all major U.S. shale basins. Iron Oak Energy Solutions, formed from the strategic combination of Covia Energy and Black Mountain Sand to create a premier frac sand mining company, delivering superior products and solutions to diversified oil and natural gas markets across North America. The combination positions Iron Oak Energy with unmatched scale, reliability, and deliverability to customers in all major oil and gas shale plays We're looking for a Commercial Business Analyst to support commercial operations with a strong focus on market intelligence, pricing support, and customer-facing analytics. This role will provide data-driven insights that support decision-making, customer strategy, and business development efforts. Key Responsibilities Support Request for Proposal (RFP) processes by gathering and analyzing competitor data, customer location and activity data, and assisting with timelines and deliverables. Maintain and manage the contract database for all customer commercial agreements, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. Develop and maintain ongoing market intelligence by leveraging internal data and third-party sources to track customer activity, competitor trends, and market conditions. Assist with pricing standardization, including maintaining pricing systems, validating data, and supporting updates across customer accounts. Prepare customer-facing materials, including presentations and analytics for strategic business reviews and commercial discussions. Maintain and update technical data sheet databases to ensure accurate and consistent product information. Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Finance, and HR/Communications to support reporting, analysis, and business initiatives. Perform additional analysis and reporting as needed to support leadership decision-making. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field. 2-5+ years of experience in business analysis, market analysis, commercial operations, or a related role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights. Experience working with data sets, reporting tools, and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce or similar). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with PowerPoint and data visualization tools preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work cross-functionally and support multiple departments. Preferred Experience Experience supporting RFP processes or commercial proposals Exposure to pricing strategy or pricing systems Experience in industrial, energy, or materials-related industries
