What You Do and How You Do It:
A Financial Reporting Analyst II is a results-oriented member of the General Accounting team that has a wide range of responsibilities.
This includes:
Collaborating with Fund Managers to ensure fixed assets are appropriately classified with reasonable useful lives in accordance with County policy. Reviewing asset purchases to ensure proper account coding and compliance with capitalization policy Serving as the liaison for fixed asset and lease transactions inventory Preparing journal entries to capture fixed asset depreciation, purchases, donations, transfers, and disposals. Assisting with the audit and reporting of year-end Capital Assets in the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report to include the Capital Asset footnote which includes asset cost and depreciation. Performing Fixed Asset system maintenance Interpreting and complying with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory standards Applying strong analytical skills and sound professional judgment Managing competing priorities and complex deadline driven projects Performs other work as required
Here's What You Need:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field with three years of experience in the accounting environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You must demonstrate working knowledge of GAAP; experience in financial report compilations, and workpapers for the external auditor. You must have excellent analytical and decision-making skills; and effective communication skills for collaborating at all levels in a complex organization. Effective time management and the ability to prioritize competing priorities are essential skills. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
