Salary Range:

$40,898.00 to $63,102.00

The Role

HII has an opportunity for a Corporate Business Management (Treasury) intern in the Summer of 2027 at our office in Newport News, VA! During this robust 10 week experience, you will rotate through the HII Treasury department spending time in:

  • Banking and Capital Markets Support shareholder distributions on a variety of daily, weekly, monthly performance analyses.

Participate in discussions/meetings with third-party credit related counterparties, including; banks, and rating agencies.

Support several ad hoc analyses relate to out historical share repurchase performance and our debt maturity profile in anticipation of upcoming AOP inputs. Additional focus on the other corporate finance analysis that may impact our profile including deployment and strategic alternatives.

  • Cash Management Participate in daily cash activities to include liquidity analysis, cash management, and cash accounting
    Participate in cash forecasting analysis and weekly review meetings
    Participate in annual review of payment controls
    Participate in Account Analysis process
  • Insurance Support Erm framework including: Risk inventory updates
    Management interviews
    Preparation of the enterprise risk assessment
    Identify opportunities to improve risk-based modeling methodology Develop exposure data and support renewal process for worker's compensation; marine and general liability; international liability and auto liability programs
  • Pension, Investments and Trusts Private Assets program cash forecasting: Prepare and improve cash/liquidity forecasting process for pension plan's private equity/private credit investments schedule
    Participate in investment manager due diligence, quarterly performance reviews and portfolio rebalancing/liquidity discussions
    Leaf completion of annual CIEBA (plan sponsor organization) survey materials
    Participate in monthly investment Committee meetings and quarterly Administrative Committee meetings All applicants must ensure the information below has been provided when applying for the summer internship program:

  • Must Have
    1. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (Official transcripts will be required)
    2. Be enrolled in a relevant degreed program that supports the company's business requirements which are typically in the following areas:
  • Finance
  • Risk Management
  • Accounting
  • Economics/Finance
  • Insurance
    3. Currently attending a 4 year college or university (or 2+2 program) and ideally will be a rising Junior or above, and will be attending school in the fall following the internship, or currently enrolled in a relevant Master's program
    4. Ability to work a 40-hour work week for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer
