Onsite Trade Team is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to support a leading ship repair and government-contracting organization in Norfolk, Virginia. This position will provide high-level financial reporting, forecasting, cost analysis, and accounting support while working closely with senior leadership and department managers.
Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Analyze actual financial performance against budgets, operating plans, and forecasts. Investigate, interpret, and communicate financial and cost variances to management. Develop and maintain financial forecasts, models, and ad hoc reports. Maintain and reconcile fixed-asset records, including capitalization, depreciation, sales, and disposals. Support capital budgeting and analyze budget-to-actual performance. Assist with SOX compliance, internal controls, monitoring, and Section 404 testing. Support corporate tax, insurance, audit, and risk-management requirements. Track financial performance and identify potential problems or discrepancies. Assist with complex financial analysis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution. Communicate financial findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related field. Minimum of five years of accounting or financial-analysis experience. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong experience with financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis. Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines. Ability to work onsite in Norfolk, Virginia. Must be a U.S. citizen due to government-contract requirements. Must be able to complete the required background and credit-screening processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous financial experience with a government contractor. Experience working in shipbuilding, ship repair, manufacturing, or another project-based environment. Deltek Costpoint experience. Fixed-asset accounting experience, including
SAGE FAS.
Experience supporting SOX compliance and public-company reporting. MBA, CPA, CMA, or another relevant professional designation. The strongest candidates will have experience combining financial analysis with cost accounting, fixed assets, forecasting, government contracting, and executive-level reporting.
