Job Description
Lynch Consultants is seeking a Financial Management & Audit Readiness Analyst to support the U.S. Air Force Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) program. This role supports audit readiness, internal control implementation, and financial management transformation efforts across DoW environments. The selected candidate will apply technical expertise to execute audit remediation activities, support business process improvements, and contribute to the preparation and validation of financial statement audit artifacts. This position may also lead small teams and coordinate across stakeholders to drive timely, compliant deliverables. Key responsibilities include supporting audit response efforts, developing and reviewing assertion packages, evaluating internal controls, and ensuring alignment with FIAR guidance and federal financial management requirements.
Work Location and Schedule:
- We are seeking candidates in the National Capital Region (NCR) for the following worksite locations: Air Force client site / Joint Base Andrews / Arlington, VA (Hybrid expected).
- Standard business hours, support to mission requirements as needed.
Salary:
$84,000 - $89,000 commensurate with experience. Required Qualifications -Must Have:
- MUST have a BA/BS in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- MUST have one of the following certifications: CPA, CIA, CISA, CDFM, or CGFM.
- MUST have an Active Interim or Secret Clearance.
- MUST have a minimum of 5 years of relevant financial management or audit experience.
- MUST have experience supporting financial statement audits or audit readiness initiatives.
- MUST have experience preparing or reviewing assessable unit assertion packages in accordance with FIAR Guidance.
- MUST have knowledge of GAAP, GAGAS, and Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICOFR).
- MUST have familiarity with FASAB and SFFAS standards.
- MUST have experience with OMB Circulars (A-123, A-127, A-134, A-136).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supervising or leading small teams.
- Prior DoD or Air Force FIAR experience.
- Familiarity with audit tools, data analytics, or financial systems.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in financial and audit environments.
- Ability to support internal control testing and documentation efforts.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and coordinating with stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
