Job Description
IES Commercial, Inc. - DBA IES Electrical, seeking full-time Financial Analyst in Suffolk, Virginia. Job Summary Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information Documents financial transactions such as, but not limited to, entering journal entries, asset records, and inventory Maintains prepaid dues and subscriptions schedules Summarizes current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents Reconciles general ledger and sub-ledger accounts Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information Maintains financial security by following internal controls Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance or equivalent. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Current knowledge of computer systems, MS Office, and Spectrum is a plus. Attention-to-Detail skill. Strong communication (oral and written) and detailed organizational skills. Must be hands-on, self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities/projects, to collaborate, communicate, and build working relationships with all levels of employees and management. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and judgment when dealing with sensitive financial issues. Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.
