Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental stewardship, is looking for a Financial Analyst for their Vancouver, Washington location. In this role, you will provide financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting support for large-scale infrastructure capital and expense programs. You will partner with project managers, finance teams, and business leaders to monitor project financials, analyze budgets and forecasts, track capital and expense activity, and help ensure financial information is accurate and aligned with organizational policies. Vancouver, Washington - HYRBID (1 to 2-days a week onsite) Key Responsibilities for

Financial Analyst:

Perform financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting for capital, expense, and reimbursable programs in accordance with GAAP, FERC, and financial compliance requirements.

Partner with Project and Program Managers to track project costs, analyze actuals versus estimates, develop forecasts, and identify financial risks or discrepancies.

Perform monthly financial analysis, including accruals, reversals, re-accruals, expenditure analysis, and forecasting.

Support capital asset accounting activities, including project closeout, asset capitalization, depreciation, asset retirements, and appropriate FERC classification.

Analyze program and project costs, identify errors or variances, recommend corrective actions, and track issues through resolution.

Prepare accurate financial reports, spreadsheets, graphs, and presentations for project teams, finance leadership, executives, and internal/external auditors.

Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activities and provide data and analysis used for budgeting and investment decisions.

Maintain financial policies, procedures, records, and supporting documentation to meet internal controls, audit, and compliance requirements.

Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, workflows, and data accuracy.

Provide financial guidance and training to Project and Program Managers on financial processes, methodologies, and responsibilities.

Requirements/Qualification for

Financial Analyst:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Business Mathematics, or a closely related field preferred.

6+ months of professional experience in financial analysis, including project financial support or analysis.

Experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, or financial performance analysis.

Working knowledge of ERP or automated financial systems, such as PeopleSoft, Asset Suite, or similar platforms.

Experience running queries, generating financial reports, and using data to support business or management decision-making.

Ability to research financial data anomalies, reconcile information from multiple sources, and identify and resolve discrepancies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate financial information to managers, stakeholders, and business partners.

Experience providing financial process guidance, training, or updates to internal stakeholders.
