Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Accounting Manager to lead critical components of our accounting operations. This role will oversee the monthly close process, manage a team of accountants, and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting across multiple dealership locations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical accounting foundation, leadership experience, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset to help scale and streamline our financial processes.
Responsibilities:
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring all journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports are completed accurately and on schedule Supervise, coach, and develop a team of staff and senior accountants, promoting continuous improvement and professional growth Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and internal financial reporting packages Maintain and monitor general ledger integrity and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls Partner closely with dealership operations to understand and analyze financial performance by location Oversee the preparation and review of lot-level income statements and operating reports Analyze key accounting areas including deferred revenue, reserves, and fixed assets Manage tax-related filings such as personal property taxes and estimated payments in collaboration with external partners Ensure accurate accounting for repossessions, recoveries, and charge-offs Support the implementation and optimization of accounting systems and process improvements Serve as a key resource for external auditors and regulatory compliance efforts Collaborate with senior finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives Step in for the Controller or Principal Accounting Officer when needed
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA preferred) 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger systems, and internal control frameworks Automotive industry experience or multi-location retail environment preferred Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to balance attention to detail with big-picture thinking in a fast-paced environment Strong leadership qualities with a collaborative, team-first approach Archon Resources is a top staffing and recruiting firm offering direct hire and contract placement in Tulsa, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Austin, and Northwest Arkansas.
