Job Description

Job Summary:
The Finance Technician / Benefits Administrator is responsible for managing payroll processing, employee benefits administration, and supporting daily accounting operations. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll, maintains compliance with federal and state regulations, administers employee benefit programs, and assists with financial reporting and reconciliations. The position works closely with HR, Finance, and management teams to maintain accurate records, support audits, resolve employee inquiries, and improve administrative and accounting processes. Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, organizational skills, and knowledge of payroll, benefits, and accounting procedures are essential for success in this role.

Salary:
$22.18/hr DOE Duties and Responsibilities
  • Process biweekly payroll accurately and on time
  • Maintain payroll records, employee deductions, tax withholdings, and direct deposit information
  • Review employee timesheets, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and PTO balances
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
  • Process payroll adjustments, garnishments, and deductions
  • Prepare payroll reports and assist with payroll audits
  • Respond to employee payroll-related questions and resolve discrepancies Benefits Administration
  • Administer employee health, dental, vision, life, and retirement benefit programs
  • Coordinate employee onboarding, benefit enrollment, and open enrollment processes
  • Assist employees with benefit-related questions and claims issues
  • Maintain benefits records and ensure accurate payroll deductions
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers and third-party providers
  • Reconcile monthly insurance invoices and benefit statements General Accounting Duties
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, payroll accounts, and balance sheet accounts
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
  • Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with company accounting policies and procedures
  • Assist with internal audits and financial analysis projects Administrative & Compliance Support-
  • Maintain confidentiality of employees and financial information
  • Ensure compliance with payroll, accounting, and employment regulations
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and management teams
  • Assist with process improvements and system updates
  • Perform additional administrative and accounting duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and other
Characteristics:
  • Working knowledge of computer operations
  • Requires a high degree of accuracy in the processing of disbursements
  • Must possess excellent data entry skills
  • Must be detailed oriented but also able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must have excellent oral communication skills
  • Must be able to work well with others and meet strict deadlines
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Two years' experience in accounting and finance
  • Valid state Driver's License
  • High School Diploma or GED The Kaibab Paiute Tribe abides by the Indian Preference Act.
