Job Description

A Robert Half Management Resources client is seeking a hands-on Interim Accounting Manager Consultant to support day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close for a complex, multi-entity environment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can step in quickly, manage priorities independently, and ensure accuracy across key accounting functions.

The consultant will work closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams to maintain operational continuity, improve processes, and support critical reporting needs.

Key ResponsibilitiesMonth-End Close & Journal EntriesLead and support month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate completionPrepare and review journal entries, including:

Accruals (e.g., credit card accruals)Intercompany transactionsPayroll-related journal entriesForeign currency adjustmentsMaintain supporting schedules and ensure completeness of documentationAccount ReconciliationsPerform and review balance sheet reconciliations, including:

Bank reconciliationsCredit card accountsIntercompany balancesInvestigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely mannerIntercompany & Foreign CurrencyManage intercompany accounting, eliminations, and reconciliationsSupport accounting for foreign currency transactions and exchange rate impactsEnsure proper treatment and alignment across entitiesReporting & AnalysisPerform variance analysis across key accounts and explain fluctuationsSupport internal reporting requirements and ad hoc financial analysisAssist with data validation and reporting accuracy across systemsSystems & ToolsUtilize JDE (JD Edwards), Access, and OneStream for transaction review, reporting, and consolidationsSupport data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting across multiple systemsAssist with process improvements and system utilization as neededGeneral Accounting SupportMaintain organized and audit-ready documentationAssist with ad hoc accounting projects and clean-up effortsCollaborate with internal teams to address accounting and operational issuesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Accounting Manager-level responsibilitiesStrong experience with:

Month-end closeJournal entries and accrualsBank and balance sheet reconciliationsIntercompany accountingForeign currency transactionsTechnical SkillsExperience with:

JD Edwards (JDE) (highly preferred)OneStream (highly preferred)Microsoft Access (preferred)Advanced Excel skills (data analysis, reconciliations, reporting)Key CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to quickly ramp up and operate independentlyStrong organizational and time management skillsAnalytical mindset with the ability to explain variances clearlyEffective communication and collaboration skillsEngagement DetailsImmediate start preferredFull-time, onsite presence required in Southeast San DiegoDuration through December 2026
