Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Accounting Manager Long Beach, CaliforniaWe are partnering with a growing, dynamic organization in Long Beach to identify an experienced Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and supervise a team of six. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing the month-end close, and maintaining strong accounting processes in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and an effective people leader who can drive accountability while supporting team development and process improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial results
• Supervise a team of six accounting professionals, providing coaching, oversight, and performance management
• Oversee general ledger activity, including review and approval of journal entries and supporting documentation
• Manage account reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are identified, investigated, and resolved
• Prepare and review financial statements and internal management reports
• Coordinate audit activities, including preparation of schedules and response to auditor requests
• Maintain and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Partner with leadership to support business initiatives and financial reporting needs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
• 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience
• Proven ability to manage and develop a team (experience overseeing 5+ staff preferred)
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel
• Strong organizational and communication skills
