Accounting Manager 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars Marina dl Rey, CA 90292 From $90,000 a year - Full-time Del Rey Yacht Club 4 reviews From $90,000 a year - Full-time Seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and strengthen core accounting operations and support accurate financial oversight for Del Rey Yacht Club in our Marina del Rey, California location. This position plays a central role in financial reporting, payroll coordination, oversight of receivables and payables and food and beverage financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to keep multiple processes organized and moving forward together. The position reports to the Club Treasurer.
Responsibilities:
Oversee financial controls and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting for all club operations including food and beverage operations Oversee the general ledger and related records using accrual-based accounting practices, ensuring transactions are properly documented and posted accurately Prepare recurring financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and supporting general ledger detail for management review Manage month-end and year-end close activities by overseeing/completing reconciliations, recording journal entries, and confirming the accuracy of balance sheet accounts Supervise bookkeeper(s) Review accounts receivable and accounts payable on a regular basis to help maintain strong financial control Oversee payroll processing and time-off tracking while helping ensure employee records and related data remain current and accurate Oversee transactional workflows such as member invoicing and member receipt processing, vendor bill entry, and weekly payment runs File or oversee filing of governmental assessed taxes, licenses and fees including business taxes, sales tax, liquor permit, etc. Support monthly inventory processes and review inventory controls Assist with addressing member account concerns related to member charges and outstanding balances Perform budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis Coordinate with outside accountant for annual review and filing of tax return Develop and refine accounting workflows to improve efficiency and consistency Strengthen month-end accrual procedures and supporting documentation Implement controls and standardized processes across accounting operations Oversee year-end payroll and other reporting such as 1099 preparation. Assist Treasurer with banking administration
