Accounting Manager

Description Our nonprofit client in Oakland is seeking an interim accounting manager for a 6-month (possible contract-to-hire) engagement. The Accounting Manager will support day-to-day accounting operations with a focus on general ledger, accounts receivable, reconciliations, monthly financial statement review, and intercompany transactions. The ideal candidate is analytical, highly detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a large, complex organization. Experience with Yardi and high-volume reconciliations is strongly preferred. This role requires onsite work in Oakland, California 5 days a week, and is expected to pay $65-75/hr. DOE. Key responsibilities + Oversee core operational accounting functions across general ledger and accounts receivable + Review monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations + Review monthly financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness + Prepare and review journal entries, including intercompany transactions + Review payment requests and support timely, accurate transaction processing + Oversee accounts receivable activities, including rent posting review + Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and resolve issues independently + Use Excel and ERP tools to analyze large data sets and support accounting accuracy + Assist with audit preparation and other close-related deliverables as needed Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field + 5+ years of progressive accounting experience + Strong experience in GL, AR, reconciliations, journal entries and intercompany transactions + Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivots, and large-data-set analysis + Experience in a high-volume, complex accounting environment + Ability to work fully onsite in Downtown Oakland Preferred qualifications: + Experience with Yardi Voyager + Background in property accounting, housing, real estate, nonprofit, public sector, or similarly complex environments + CPA or MBA preferred, but not required Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
