Job Description Section Manager II
  • Project Accounting & Financial Reporting nder general direction, manages and oversees complex accounting programs, financial reporting activities, and compliance requirements in accordance with agency policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
This role leads major accounting projects, ensures accurate financial reporting, supports external audits, and provides technical leadership to accounting staff. This is an exempt position in salary grade 220: Min

  • $135,324.80 | Max
  • $157,352.
00/annually. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications. This posting will remain open until a candidate is selected What You'll Do Manage fund-level accounting transactions, including interfund accounting for governmental and enterprise funds Lead preparation of key financial reports, including the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), Single Audit, National Transit Database (NTD) Report, and State Controller's Report Oversee month-end and year-end close activities, reconciliations, and trial balance reviews Serve as liaison with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audit requirements Research and implement new accounting standards and reporting requirements Supervise, mentor, and support accounting staff, including performance management and employee development Analyze complex accounting issues and apply sound professional judgment to resolve them Manage special projects and process improvement initiatives What We're Looking For Strong technical expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting, and auditing standards Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and collaboration skills
Minimum Qualifications:
