Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead core accounting activities and support accurate, timely financial reporting in California. This role oversees daily accounting operations, guides a small team, and partners across the business to strengthen controls, resolve issues, and improve processes. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership capability, and hands-on experience in close activities, reconciliations, and audit support.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct daily accounting functions across the general ledger, financial reporting, and tax-related activities while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead cost accounting efforts, review inventory reconciliations, and work closely with manufacturing partners to investigate and resolve variances.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a small accounting team, providing clear direction, ongoing feedback, and opportunities for career growth.
  • Support hiring efforts, onboard new team members, and conduct performance reviews to build a high-performing department.
  • Oversee the month-end close process to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and financial results are reliable and consistent.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and handle more complex account analysis to maintain strong financial integrity.
  • Prepare and review schedules and supporting documentation for external audits and property or sales tax compliance requirements.
  • Drive process improvements by refining accounting policies, strengthening internal procedures, and increasing operational efficiency.
  • Partner with internal departments and external stakeholders to address accounting questions, improve communication, and resolve issues proactively.
