Accounting Manager at Ledgent Finance & Accounting Accounting Manager at Ledgent Finance & Accounting in Sacramento, California Posted in 3 days ago. $50.00 - $60.00 per hour Position Summary Our client, a growing construction organization, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their accounting team. This role is responsible for managing general ledger activities, preparing financial statements, overseeing month-end close processes, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, experience working in a project-based environment, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure compliance with GAAP. Analyze project costs, work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, and job profitability. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts. Partner with project managers and operations teams to provide financial insight on construction projects. Support external audits, tax preparation, and compliance reporting. Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions for accuracy. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and internal controls. Prepare management reports and ad hoc financial analyses as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within construction, engineering, or project-based industries.
