Job Description
Description We are looking for a Finance Manager to support planning, reporting, and analysis activities for a team based in San Francisco, California. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented finance specialist who can provide strong insight into business performance through accurate forecasting, thoughtful modeling, and dependable monthly close support. The role will contribute to financial visibility and decision-making by translating data into clear recommendations for stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly close activities by reviewing financial results, resolving variances, and helping ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Build and maintain financial models that support budgeting, scenario planning, and strategic decision-making.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports that highlight trends, risks, and performance drivers.
- Analyze operating results against forecasts and budgets, identifying key variances and explaining underlying causes.
- Develop forward-looking projections to support planning cycles and business performance reviews.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and improve the quality of financial analysis.
- Present concise financial insights and recommendations that help leadership make informed decisions. Requirements
- Proven experience in finance management, financial planning, or a related analytical role.
- Strong hands-on background in month-end close processes and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to create and refine financial models for forecasting and performance analysis.
- Solid understanding of budgeting, variance analysis, and business performance metrics.
- Ability to work independently while managing priorities in a part-time schedule of 10-20 hours per week.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial findings clearly to business partners.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in financial work.
