  • Your Job Duties You will oversee the accounting function (AP, AR/billing) and perform complex accounting calculations and journal entries as well as the monthly financial reporting packages for several entities in the trucking and construction space.
Lead month end close including reconciliations, journal entries, depreciation, sales tax, royalties, and general ledger activities Prepare accurate financial statements and develop monthly financial reporting packages including balance sheet, operating statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cost reporting Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and lien waiver processes while serving as the point of escalation for the accounting team Supervise, mentor, and support a small accounting team while providing training and daily leadership Partner with ownership to improve accounting processes and reduce the financial close timeline Improve visibility into equipment and operational costs through stronger cost accounting and reporting Coordinate with the outside CPA firm to support tax preparation for multiple entities Support accounting for multiple companies while maintaining accurate financial records across each entity Participate in future ERP implementation and process improvement initiatives Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls, improve efficiency, and provide meaningful financial insight that supports business decisions Accounting Manager
  • You Have (Required Skills, Experience & Team Fit) You have: Prior experience performing hands-on general ledger accounting and month end close
  • you enjoy the hands-on debits and credits, month end close and preparing a financial package Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles, debits and credits, reconciliations, and financial reporting Prior experience overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and daily accounting operations and mentoring a small team Enjoyment for working in a closely held company in the construction industry•you are a part of the action watching the trucks in the yard cruise by the weigh station at the office You might have: Prior experience in construction accounting, trucking, agriculture, or manufacturing Prior experience working in a multi-entity accounting environment Prior experience with cost accounting and equipment cost reporting Prior experience with an ERP conversion Accounting Manager•Benefits for You Your compensation will be $120,000 to $135,000 annually, depending on your experience.
You will work 100% in the office with the flexibility to choose a schedule (anytime between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.). You will be provided with medical, dental and vision insurance options, paid holidays, time off and a very strong 401k plan (we match up to 15%!).
