Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager supports the Finance Director in overseeing the financial operations of the organization and helps ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting. This position supervises the accounting team, manages general ledger activities, and supports the annual financial audit process. The Accounting Manager ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), nonprofit accounting standards, and applicable regulatory requirements while supporting the mission and financial stewardship of HopeWest.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience required. Experience in nonprofit or healthcare financial environments preferred. Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required. Experience managing or supporting external financial audits required. CPA certification preferred.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and nonprofit accounting standards. Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with nonprofit financial systems preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with leadership and cross-departmental teams. High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.Pay and Benefits:
