Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Treasury Financial Manager to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Hartford, Connecticut. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and safeguarding financial assets while ensuring compliance with established processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support the financial operations of a local government entity and contribute to its fiscal stability.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all web-based and internet banking platforms to maintain secure financial transactions.
  • Safeguard and invest the City's monetary assets, including trust funds, debt service, pension funds, and general fund cash.
  • Handle vendor payments by printing and disbursing checks and uploading electronic payment files such as Epayables and Paymode-X.
  • Prepare and process cash disbursement journals and Positive Pay bank files for vendor payments.
  • Approve journal entries and invoice approvals within the Munis system to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Administer weekly or bi-weekly payroll processing in Munis, including funding approval and direct deposits in Cashpro.
  • Monitor and update the monthly investment tracker to maintain accurate investment records.
  • Review and approve monthly reconciliations for all financial accounts.
  • Support treasury operations and bond management activities to facilitate efficient financial practices.
  • Supervise daily collection operations at the City Office and ensure timely pension payments.
