Job Overview -
Accounting Manager Compensation:
$140,000 - $180,000/year + bonus
Location:
Stamford, CT Schedule:
Monday to Friday (In-Office) Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounting Manager in Stamford, CT for our client, leading accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, and process improvement within a growing organization. The Accounting Manager will oversee general ledger activities, manage and develop accounting staff, strengthen financial processes, and partner with leadership on reporting and operational initiatives. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader with strong technical accounting, systems, and change management experience. Responsibilities as the
Accounting Manager:
Accounting Operations:
Lead month-end and year-end close processes while overseeing general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, and related accounting functions.
Financial Reporting:
Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and provide financial analysis to management.
Internal Controls:
Maintain accounting controls, policies, procedures, and audit support to promote accurate and compliant financial reporting.
Systems & Process Improvement:
Improve accounting systems, workflows, and processes while identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and automation.
Team Leadership:
Manage and develop accounting professionals while providing technical guidance and reviewing accounting activities.
Business Partnership:
Collaborate with finance and business teams on accounting, reporting, systems, and process improvement initiatives. Qualifications for the
Accounting Manager:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
Certification:
CPA certification is preferred.
Experience:
6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including accounting leadership or team management experience, is required, with public accounting experience preferred.
Industry Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, and technical accounting is required.
Technical Skills:
Strong Microsoft Excel and ERP system experience is required, with accounting automation and financial systems experience preferred.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong leadership, analytical, communication, organization, problem-solving, change management, and process improvement skills are required.
