Position Overview Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Technical Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading key technical accounting areas, including accounting for debt and equity arrangements, and providing quarterly/annual financial reporting support. This role serves as a critical liaison across Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Treasury and Tax, ensuring appropriate application of U.S. GAAP, and audit-ready documentation. The position also supports emerging accounting issues, prepares technical memos, and drives consistency in accounting policies and processes across the organization. Key Responsibilities Leads the accounting for complex transactions, for, among other things, debt and equity arrangements Preparation of technical accounting memos, related journal entries and account reconciliations for technical accounting issues and when necessary, supporting schedules for financial statement disclosures Monitor new accounting pronouncements and lead implementation of new accounting standards Collaborate with various members of the Accounting team to prepare the Company's annual financial and footnotes, and prepare related audit support Assist in the management of the annual audit Assist in various monthly, quarterly and annual close related activities, including monthly P&L and Balance Sheet review Assist in the preparation of required California ESG reports, including leading all aspects of audit review Leads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of technical accounting processes and related internal controls Support SOX compliance by maintaining strong documentation, assisting with internal control design and execution, and responding to internal and external audit requests Partner with Legal and business teams to review significant contracts and determine appropriate accounting treatment, including evaluating agreements for accounting implications and identifies technical accounting considerations Perform special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned Qualifications (Required) Bachelor's degree in accounting CPA or working towards CPA 4-6 years of combined public and / or private accounting experience Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general accounting theory Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience with preparation of technical accounting memos, presentations, etc. Experience with financial reporting and external audits Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Big 4 Accounting experience MS or MBA in Accounting Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) Experience with process improvement or accounting automation initiatives What We Offer We care deeply about supporting our team members — professionally and personally.
