QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Education & Experience
  • Degree in Nonprofit Management, Finance, Public Administration, Business, or related field preferred, with a 2-5 years' experience, Or a minimum 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit finance, program administration, or related areas.
  • Demonstrated success in grant writing, government contracts, and donor stewardship.
  • Proven track record in budget management for organizations with budgets of $1M+.
  • Experience supervising multi-disciplinary teams and fostering inclusive, trauma-informed environments. Technical & Professional Competencies
  • Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, GAAP, and compliance.
  • Fundraising, grant management, and event planning skills.
  • Expertise in data-driven program evaluation and outcome measurement.
  • Proficiency in financial software (QuickBooks) and donor management systems.
  • Written and verbal communication; ability to represent the Café to funders, partners, and the community. Personal Qualities

  • Deep respect for lived experience of homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • If in recovery, a minimum of two years sobriety is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Finance Manager provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure the organization's financial health, compliance, and long-term sustainability. This role integrates financial management with fundraising and resource development, serving as a key member of the Café leadership team and a steward of its mission. Finance & Fundraising
  • Serve as primary financial steward; ensure accurate accounting, audit readiness, and timely tax filings.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets; provide monthly and quarterly financial reporting to the Board.
  • Lead fundraising strategy, including grant writing, donor relations, sponsorships, and special events.
  • Oversee payroll, HR compliance, insurance, and benefits administration.
  • Maintain transparent systems for tracking revenue and expenses, and ensure alignment with funder requirements.
