Type:

full-time A growing organization in the Fort Lauderdale area is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations, ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, and support strategic decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional looking to take ownership of a department and work closely with executive leadership in a stable and growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and adjustments Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines Prepare and review financial statements, variance analyses, and supporting schedules for management Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow projections in collaboration with finance leadership Implement and maintain internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures in accordance with GAAP Supervise and mentor a small accounting team, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development Partner with operations and senior management to identify process improvements and drive efficiency across the department Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals during audits and filings

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA strongly preferred 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or team lead responsibilities Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with multi-entity or high-volume environments Advanced Excel skills; experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accuracy under deadlines, and communicate effectively across departments Ascendo is a certified minority owned staffing firm, and we welcome and celebrate diversity.
