Job Description

Guardianship Program of Dade County, Inc. is a leading and unique social services agency that works with a diverse and vulnerable adult population (including young adults 18 years and older) throughout all Miami-Dade County. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeping Supervisor to lead and support a growing bookkeeping team within a mission-driven organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys developing staff, and has a strong background in financial operations, reconciliations, compliance, and process oversight. This position will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial management, maintaining compliance standards, improving workflows, and supporting day-to-day bookkeeping operations. This position also provides leadership, coaching, and operational guidance to a team of Bookkeepers while partnering closely with Finance leadership. Key Responsibilities Supervise, mentor, and support a team of Bookkeepers to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations. Assist with employee onboarding, training, coaching, workload management, and ongoing performance management. Oversee daily and monthly reconciliations of financial accounts, ensuring all transactions, income, disbursements, and vendor payments are accurately processed and maintained within internal systems. Review and approve invoices, payment requests, bank reconciliations, vendor records, check runs, automated payments, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance. Monitor outstanding checks, reimbursements, account balances, and financial reports to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and maintain operational efficiency. Collaborate with internal departments, financial institutions, vendors, and leadership to address financial matters and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Assist with annual 1099 preparation, tax-related reporting support, audits, and other financial documentation requests as needed. Ensure bookkeeping activities comply with internal policies, financial regulations, and applicable reporting requirements. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, strengthen financial controls, and enhance overall department processes and efficiency. Support a collaborative, service-oriented work environment while helping ensure departmental goals and deadlines are consistently met. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience required. Previous supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred. Skills & Knowledge Strong understanding of bookkeeping practices, reconciliations, financial reporting, and accounts payable processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. Experience working with accounting or financial management software systems. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
