COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION OF FLORIDA
Manager, Consumer Lending The primary purpose of this position is to assist Community Credit Union of Florida in living out our Mission, "Always improve the financial well-being of our members and make a positive difference in the communities we serve," by delivering outstanding service to both internal and external members. The Consumer Lending Manager is responsible for the leadership, performance, and operational effectiveness of the credit union's consumer lending function, including loan origination, processing, and underwriting. This role oversees a centralized, call center-based lending team and ensures an efficient, compliant, and member-focused lending experience from application through funding. The position balances production, credit quality, and operational efficiency, while driving a high-performance culture aligned with the credit union's service standards and risk appetite. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Leadership & Team Management Lead, coach, and develop a team of lenders, processors, and underwriters in a call center environment Establish performance expectations and monitor productivity, quality, and service levels Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and member-centric service Partner with HR on hiring, training, performance management, and employee engagement Consumer Lending (Direct Origination) Oversee direct consumer lending channels (auto, personal, credit cards, etc.) within a centralized/call center model Ensure loan production goals are met while maintaining strong member experience standards Monitor pipeline activity, conversion rates, and turnaround times Partner with branch and digital channels to support loan growth initiatives Loan Processing Ensure efficient and accurate loan processing from application to funding Optimize workflows to improve cycle times and reduce bottlenecks Maintain high standards for documentation, verification, and funding accuracy Implement process improvements and leverage technology to enhance efficiency Underwriting & Credit Quality Assist in oversight of consumer loan underwriting to ensure sound credit decisions align with policy Monitor loan quality, approval ratios, and risk trends Review and approve loans within assigned authority limits Partner with risk and compliance teams to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements Operations & Compliance Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (e.g., Reg B, FCRA, Fair Lending, etc.) Maintain up-to-date procedures and internal controls Support audits and examinations; address findings and implement corrective actions Monitor and report on key performance and risk metrics Strategy & Continuous Improvement Analyze lending data and performance trends to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency Recommend and implement enhancements to lending products, policies, and processes Support digital lending initiatives and call center optimization Collaborate cross-functionally to improve the end-to-end member lending experience
ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
The environment for this position is an open, non-confined office-type setting that is clean and comfortable, where the incumbent is free to move about at will. The incumbent for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, copy and fax machines, calculator, computer terminal, personal computer, and related printers.
MENTAL DEMANDS
The incumbent in this position must be able to read documents or instruments, perform detailed work and problem solve; possess excellent member contact and verbal and written communication skills; have strong math and analytical reasoning skills; and the ability to effectively handle stress, multiple concurrent tasks, and constant interruptions.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5-8+ years of progressive experience in consumer lending 2-4+ years of leadership experience in a lending or call center environment Experience overseeing lending required Experience overseeing processing, and underwriting functions preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of consumer lending products, underwriting principles, and credit risk Experience managing high-volume, centralized lending operations Understanding of applicable regulations and compliance requirements Proven ability to lead teams, drive performance, and manage change Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills The incumbent must be able to perform this position safely, without endangering health or safety to the individual or others.
