Accounting Manager Location:
Onsite (Monday-Thursday)
Schedule:
4-day work week
Employment Type:
Full-Time About the Role Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting, the Accounting Manager will oversee the month-end close process and support quarterly and annual financial reporting. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, maintaining strong internal controls, and driving process improvements across the accounting function. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong leadership skills, technical accounting expertise, and a continuous improvement mindset. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Review staff work for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to deadlines Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of accounting personnel Identify and implement improvements to month-end close and reconciliation processes Work directly with external auditors for audits, quarterly reviews, SEC filings, and SOX compliance support Maintain compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements, including recommending improvements Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and record adjusting journal entries as needed Develop and maintain cross-functional relationships across Accounting, Operations, Legal, Procurement, IT, and other departments Perform financial analysis, special projects, and ad hoc reporting as needed Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, including performance management and career development Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience CPA preferred Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting Experience with SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and external audits required Oracle NetSuite experience strongly preferred Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs required) Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills Ability to interpret and apply technical accounting guidance Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Proven ability to manage confidential and sensitive information Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
