Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support a Financial Services organization in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This Long-term Contract position will lead core accounting activities, maintain reliable financial reporting, and help ensure audit readiness during a period of added reporting complexity. The role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can bring structure to close processes, oversee historical financial recasting efforts, and coordinate closely with auditors and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities to promote accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee general ledger operations, including the review and approval of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Rework prior-period financial results as needed to support comparative reporting and improve consistency across financial statements.
  • Manage parallel reporting requirements during a transition period, ensuring accuracy across multiple accounting frameworks or entities.
  • Partner with audit teams to address documentation requests, resolve accounting questions, and support successful financial statement audits.
  • Strengthen day-to-day accounting processes by identifying reporting issues, improving controls, and maintaining dependable output under changing conditions.
  • Prepare and review financial reports using systems and tools such as Oracle and Essbase to support leadership decision-making.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional partners to align accounting policy application and maintain compliance with internal and external reporting expectations.
