Job Description:
Operations Finance Manager Des Moines, IA $115-120K, +Bonus We are hiring a key financial leader for a manufacturing site in Des Moines, IA. The Operations Finance Manager is responsible for financial controls and procedures such as tracking, analyzing, formulating, and reporting on various costs in manufacturing along with general financial accounting. This role reports to Sr Operations Finance Manager and Plant Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Cost Accounting :
Develop standard product, material, and labor costs, monitor manufacturing expenditures, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Inventory Control:
Maintains strict inventory and business cost controls.
Financial Reporting:
Own the site's balance sheet integrity, perform month-end close procedures, and prepare weekly/monthly financial reports. Prepares and submits state and federal government documentation.
Auditing:
Involved in preparation of audit procedures and budgets. Enters, retrieves, updates and processes financial data via computer systems.
Budgeting & Forecasting :
Lead annual operating budgets, quarterly forecasts, and variance analysis.
Leadership:
Act as a strategic business partner to the Sr Operations Finance Manager and Plant Director. Prepares, reviews, and provides explanation for various internal financial and management, guiding site operations and reviewing capital investment requests.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive financial management experience in a manufacturing environment, with emphasis on both cost and general financial accounting. Strong proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle/QAD), databases (AS400) and writing queries (Cyberquery) to extract data. Proficient in Microsoft Suite of products, including advanced Excel analysis and automation. Deep understanding of cost accounting and GAAP. Effective verbal/written communication and presentation skills for a diverse audience. Ability to read, analyze, collect data, establish facts, and interpret business data.
