Salary:
$60,180 - $71,851 annually (Exempt)
About Us:
At the Housing Authority of the City of East St. Louis, every budget you balance and every report you submit helps families find safe, affordable housing and builds stronger neighborhoods. We're looking for an Accounting Manager to lead our finance operations, ensure HUD compliance, and keep our mission moving forward. What You'll Do Lead budgets for Public Housing and community programs. Oversee payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger. Manage monthly/year-end closing and produce accurate financial statements. Ensure HUD compliance and submit
REAC FDS
reports on time. Coordinate audits and maintain financial integrity across all programs.
What You Bring Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience , including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role . Strong knowledge of HUD regulations, GAAP, and federal reporting requirements. Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills. A passion for accuracy, transparency, and community service.
