Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Business Unit Accounting Manager to support a growing manufacturing operation with locations across the United States and Mexico. This position will serve as a key business partner to manufacturing and operations leadership, supporting financial planning, forecasting, cost accounting, financial analysis, and internal controls across multiple locations. This is not a traditional accounting role focused on Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable. Instead, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting and cost accounting and be comfortable partnering directly with Business Unit Managers and operational leaders to analyze business performance, manufacturing costs, and financial results. This role supports three manufacturing locations and reports directly to the Business Unit Finance leadership.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Partner directly with Business Unit Managers and operational leadership teams to support financial performance and decision-making. Review and analyze expenses, manufacturing costs, financial results, and operational performance. Support forecasting, budgeting, and annual planning activities for the business unit. Consolidate financial information and reporting across manufacturing locations in: Baja, Mexico Elgin, IL Marion, NY Analyze manufacturing and production variances and provide recommendations to leadership. Maintain standard costing and support manufacturing cost updates. Perform account reconciliations and support financial reporting activities. Maintain and support internal controls, audits, and compliance initiatives, including SOX-related activities. Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the fiscal year. Support inventory-related financial analysis, reporting, and physical inventory activities. Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and analysis (approximately 10% of the role). Experience supporting financial planning, forecasting, and accounting activities within a manufacturing environment. Experience analyzing manufacturing costs, production variances, and operational performance Experience with financial consolidation and reporting across multiple locations. Experience maintaining internal controls and supporting compliance initiatives. Strong understanding of month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial analysis. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience supporting ERP implementations or system upgrades. Experience participating in Kaizen events or continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing environments.
