The Role:
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and collaborative Revenue Cycle Manager to join our team. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the full revenue cycle, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant billing and reimbursement processes across the organization. The Revenue Cycle Manager will play a key role in optimizing financial performance by managing insurance billing, credentialing, payer relationships, and reporting. This position supervises one billing team member and works closely with clinical, administrative, and leadership teams to improve workflows, reduce denials, and support the organization's financial health. This is a hands-on role that combines leadership responsibilities with direct involvement in billing, credentialing, and reporting functions. Revenue Cycle & Billing Oversee the full revenue cycle, including charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, and accounts receivable follow-up Ensure accurate and timely billing to Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurers, and other payers Monitor and reduce claim denials; implement corrective actions to improve reimbursement rates Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and payer-specific billing regulations Stay current on changes in reimbursement guidelines and billing requirements Review service coding, documentation alignment, and fee schedules for accuracy Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors Credentialing Support Manage provider credentialing and re-credentialing processes Maintain relationships with insurance payers and oversee panel applications Ensure all clinicians are properly enrolled and active with payers Maintain accurate credentialing records and ensure ongoing compliance Reporting & Systems Management Develop and generate reports from the EHR to track revenue performance, accounts receivable aging, billing productivity, and denial trends Provide leadership with actionable insights and recommendations to meet revenue goals Maintain working knowledge of the EHR system and support billing-related configurations (e.g., service codes, fee schedules, billing rules) Collaborate with IT and vendors to troubleshoot issues and optimize system functionality Team Leadership & Collaboration Supervise and support one billing staff member, including training, workflow oversight, and performance management Partner with clinical and administrative teams to ensure accurate documentation and efficient billing processes Serve as a liaison between finance, operations, and clinical leadership Participate in cross-functional initiatives and organizational improvement efforts

        Employee Assistance Program Qualifications:
        • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
        • 3-5+ years of experience in healthcare billing and credentialing, preferably in community mental health in Illinois
        • Experience managing or overseeing revenue cycle operations required
        • Prior supervisory experience required
        • Strong knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance billing practices
        • Familiarity with credentialing systems (e.g., CAQH, PECOS, NPPES, CMS) required
        • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and reporting tools
        • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
        • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
