Position Overview The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of financial control, reporting, and compliance within the company. This role oversees accounting operations and supports key administrative functions while ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance. The Accounting Manager partners with company leadership to support cash flow management, treasury activities, and overall financial performance. Responsibilities Manage the accounting function and AP/AR personnel. Work closely with Human Resources on payroll, benefits, and employee-related reporting. Coordinate weekly cash forecasts, month-end and year-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare annual audit reports and annual merit increase analyses, including compa ratios. Implement and monitor accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP. Administer business insurance programs and work with Human Resources on the company's 401(k) and health insurance plans, including benefit contribution rates. Develop knowledge of the manufacturing source system to support financial processing and reconciliation with the general ledger. Handle year-end payroll processing, including preparation of W-2, 1095, PUCC, and GTL through a web-based payroll system. Ensure timely filing of tax and license obligations, including 1099s, sales tax, and state filings. Review new customer documents and establish credit terms and credit limits. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA preferred. Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 3 years of people management experience. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and accounting systems. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
