Job Description

Position Overview This is an ideal opportunity to work at a thriving company! Fort Wayne Radiology (FWR) is one of the oldest private practice radiology groups in Indiana, dedicated to delivering exceptional diagnostic imaging services to our community and beyond! We have deep roots in our community and we are growing! We are looking for a talented and driven Accounting Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in the financial health of our organization. The Accounting Manager is a hands-on, proactive leader responsible for performing/overseeing all day-to-day accounting and financial operations across four related entities. This is not a purely supervisory role — the ideal candidate rolls up their sleeves, stays current on finance and accounting best practices, and takes ownership of the numbers from end to end. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance and serves as the financial backbone of the organization. The ideal candidate will be a forward thinker, bringing ideas to the table for improving efficiency and modernizing the accounting function.
  • Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Operations
  • Execute full-cycle month-end close for four separate companies, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Input and reconcile results received from the external billing company, ensuring accuracy and completeness of revenue data
  • Track and analyze imaging volume by site on a regular basis, identifying trends and surfacing insights for leadership
  • Manage and reconcile expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and timely reimbursement Payroll
  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees across the organization
  • Ensure payroll tax compliance and coordinate with HR on any compensation changes, new hires, or terminations Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for leadership and ownership
  • Assist the Director of Finance with preparing budgets for all 4 entities
  • Monitor cash flow, budgets, and variances, and proactively communicate findings
  • Stay current on trends in healthcare finance and accounting, bringing forward recommendations for process improvements Team Leadership
  • Directly manage and mentor the Accounting Assistant, providing guidance, oversight, and professional development
  • Delegate effectively while maintaining accountability for all deliverables produced by the accounting function Systems & Compliance
  • Maintain and optimize the use of accounting software (Acumatica)
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Support external financial statement reviews, tax preparation, and other compliance activities as needed
  • Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in an accounting manager or senior accounting role
  • Proven experience managing month-end close processes, preferably across multiple entities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated hands-on approach — comfortable performing detailed accounting work, not just oversight
  • Must be flexible and willing to accept change
  • Maintain professional, ethical, and confidential relationships with all internal and external customers, employees, and management
  • Strong proficiency in payroll processing and payroll tax compliance
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Preferred
  • Experience in healthcare accounting with an emphasis in radiology or other private practice groups
  • Familiarity with revenue cycle management and billing workflows
  • Experience with Acumatica ERP software
  • Experience with Paylocity
  • Prior experience managing direct reports
