About the Position IAPD - The Performance Plastics Association is seeking a highly detail-oriented and hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations across multiple related entities. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys owning the details, maintaining accurate financial records and independently managing both transactional and general ledger accounting responsibilities in a lean, professional environment. Strong experience with Sage or QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills are required. This is not a CFO or strategic finance position. It is a hands-on accounting role focused on execution, accuracy and operational excellence. About

is a trade association serving the performance plastics industry. The organization oversees multiple related entities, including: an additional small trade association two charitable foundations a political action committee (PAC) a small for-profit subsidiary The accounting environment includes multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions and coordination with an external CPA firm for audits and tax filings. Key Responsibilities Do day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable functions Process batch payments, including checks, ACH and credit cards Perform bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations Maintain and manage full general ledger accounting across multiple entities Prepare journal entries, accruals and month-end close activities Prepare monthly financial statements, reconciliations and supporting Excel schedules Support budget tracking, variance analysis and financial projections Work with CEO and program directors and managers on annual budgets and quarterly financial forecasts Coordinate with external CPA firm on audit and tax support schedules Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation Perform intercompany accounting and reconciliations Ensure strong attention to detail and accuracy across all accounting functions Qualifications 5+ years of accounting experience preferred Experience as an Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller preferred Strong full-cycle general ledger accounting experience required Demonstrated experience independently preparing financial statements required Experience with Sage or QuickBooks accounting software required Strong Excel skills required, including reconciliations, formulas, reporting and pivot tables Experience with budgets and financial reporting Multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred Nonprofit or association accounting experience is a plus, but not required Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Compensation & Benefits Salary up to $80,000, depending on experience Generous benefit package, including 401k, health insurance, long and short-term disability insurance and dental insurance Paid time off Professional and collaborative work environment 36.5 hours work week Additional Information This role works closely with the CEO and serves as the primary accounting liaison with the organization's external CPA firm. The CPA firm prepares the audit and tax filings; this position is responsible for maintaining clean books, accurate records and organized supporting schedules.
Please note:
This is an in-office position. It is also a hands-on accounting role that includes both transactional accounting and general ledger responsibilities . Top candidates will be tested in final round on general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
