Job Description
Overview We are seeking a Controller to manage our accounting operations, payroll administration, and financial reporting. This role is responsible for daily accounting, month-end close, payroll processing, tax compliance, and financial reporting across our golf, food and beverage, and pro shop operations, and financial analysis to support management decisions. Further, this role will require the ability to assist and direct various technology and human resource activities (supported by outside resources).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting Operations:
Manage daily cash, bank and credit card reconciliations, accounts payable, payable invoice entry, and vendor statement verification. Conduct month-end close procedures and prepare monthly financial statements.Payroll Processing:
Process payroll for regular, seasonal, and part-time staff. Prepare and file all required payroll tax returns and filings. Manage timesheets and labor cost tracking.Sales & Reporting:
Prepare weekly sales reports for Golf and Food & Beverage. Manage inventory reconciliation for pro shop and bar. Process sales tax filings and handle commissions calculations. Provide revenue and KPI reporting to management.Regulatory & Compliance:
Support property tax filings, coordinate with insurance auditors, manage renewal of business and liquor licenses, and ensure compliance with employment and payroll regulations.Financial Analysis:
Develop appropriate metrics for management review. Analyze profitability by business unit (Golf, Food & Beverage, Events). Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for operating budget.HR & Systems Administration:
Manage employee records and benefits administration including health insurance, 401k, and cafeteria plans. Troubleshoot accounting and HR software systems. Have working knowledge of company IT systems and coordinate with IT professionals as needed.QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should have strong accounting knowledge, proficiency with accounting software and systems, and experience managing payroll and tax compliance. Prior experience as a controller with 10+ years of experience. Experience in hospitality, food and beverage, and/or social/golf club is preferred, but not required. Ability to troubleshoot routine issues in HR and accounting software platforms. Working knowledge of basic IT systems and cybersecurity practices. Capable of learning new software systems quickly and working independently. Ability to oversee office personnel and coordinate with business unit leaders (golf, membership, food and beverage, etc.).Pay:
$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per yearBenefits:
