Job Description

Head of Finance and Technology The Robo Hub Cambridge, MA Job Details Full-time $100,000 - $135,000 a year 1 hour ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Qualifications Business financial process improvement HR technology strategy CPA Team leadership Technology management Accounting and finance experience Financial accounting IT Payroll systems (technically supported) Senior leadership Full Job Description At The RoboHub, we believe a child's experience is only as strong as what holds it up. They never see the budget, the payroll or the technology running quietly behind the scenes, but they feel it when those things work, and they feel it even more when they don't. We teach children robotics, AI and hands-on activities, from their first preschool session through to RoboClub, our after school programme, onto summer camp and beyond. None of it happens without someone keeping the finances honest and the technology behind it running smoothly. We are based in Cambridge, and we are growing fast, with two new Hubs planned for later this year. Every hub we open depends on the same solid financial and technology foundations we are building right now. We are still a young company, and we believe scaling well matters as much as scaling fast. We want The RoboHub to be built on foundations strong enough to carry everything we build on top of them. Purpose of the Role This role is crucial to our success. Every hub we open, every teacher we hire, every family that trusts us with their child, depends on foundations most people never see. As we scale from one hub to several, those foundations need someone who can own them properly, someone who sees the story behind the numbers the way our teachers see the story behind a child's progress. You will take ownership of our financial reporting, so the business always has a clear, honest picture of where it stands. You will take ownership of the technology we depend on too, from payroll and HR platforms to the tools our teams use every day, with a Technology Manager working alongside you to build it out further as we open future hubs. Get this right, and every hub we open runs on the same strong foundations as the last. That is the standard we are building towards, and you would be the one building it. Ideal Candidate I love numbers, but I love what they tell you even more. Give me a set of accounts and I will find the story hiding inside them, then tell you what to do about it. Nothing beats watching a business move from guessing to knowing. I am just as comfortable with technology as I am with a spreadsheet. If one system is not talking to another, I want to know why, and I want to fix it properly, not patch it and move on. I do not wait to be asked. I like being close to the people I work with, and I believe in plain language over jargon, whether I am explaining a budget or a new platform to someone who has never seen either. What matters most to me is building something that lasts, foundations solid enough that the people relying on them never have to think twice.
