MAPFRE Summary The Director, Commercial Lines Actuarial is accountable for leading pricing strategy and actuarial analysis acrossMapfre'sCommercialLines portfolio, including Commercial Auto, Businessowners Policy (BOP), and Commercial Package Policy (CPP). The Director will translate portfolio performance, competitive conditions, regulatory requirements, and business objectives into actionable pricing and product recommendations. This role leads two actuarial analysts and works closely with Underwriting, Product, Finance, Claims, Data, IT, and senior management to support profitable growth, sound rate levels, effective segmentation, and timely rate filings. The Director is also responsible for maintaining and improving actuarial processes, developing team capabilities, and clearly communicating recommendations, assumptions, risks, and business impacts to internal and external stakeholders. What You'll Do Lead pricing strategy and actuarial analysis for Commercial Auto, BOP, and CPP. Evaluate loss and loss adjustment expense trends, expenses, investment income, profit and contingency provisions, reinsurance, and other components of actuarially sound rates. Own line-of-business profitability, planning, growth, rate adequacy, competitive positioning, segmentation, and rate-impact analysis. Develop recommendations for rate changes, new or revised coverages, classification plans, rating structures, and other product changes. Establish priorities and quality standards for the rate review and filing schedule and ensures that supporting analyses are accurate, well documented, and delivered on time. Communicate recommendations, assumptions, risks, and financial impacts to senior management and external stakeholders and works with business partners to drive appropriate action. Lead, develop, and manage two actuarial analysts. Sets priorities, delegates work, reviews analyses, establishes quality-control standards, and ensures timely delivery. Provides coaching on actuarial methods, commercial lines insurance, data tools, business communication, and project management. Supports professional development, including progress toward CAS credentials and readiness for expanded responsibilities. What You'll Bring Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent related experience preferred. 10+ years of experience Required Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related quantitative field Substantial property and casualty actuarial experience with increasing responsibility; experience in commercial lines pricing, preferably including Commercial Auto, BOP, or CPP Demonstrated ability to lead actuarial analyses, communicate recommendations to senior stakeholders, and manage multiple priorities Strong knowledge of insurance operations, accounting, regulation, reinsurance, and applicable Actuarial Standards of Practice Proficiency with Microsoft Office and analytical tools such as SQL, SAS, R, or comparable platforms Experience developing or improving complex analytical processes and data sources. ACAS or FCAS credential Preferred Prior experience managing actuarial employees Experience with pricing and modeling platforms such as Earnix, Emblem, or comparable tools Why Mapfre? Pay Transparency :

The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Salary Range:

$200,000 - $255,800
