Job Description
Yankee Home is seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller / Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial records, strengthen internal controls, and support timely financial reporting. This role bridges transactional accounting and financial management while partnering with the Director of Finance & IT and company leadership. The position supervises accounting support staff and provides limited office management for the Wrentham, MA office. Key Responsibilities Execute daily accounting operations including accounts payable, cash receipts, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for management review. Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation. Maintain strong internal controls, segregation of duties, and complete audit trails. Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies promptly; escalate unresolved issues. Support weekly cash reporting and short-term cash flow forecasting. Maintain accurate job costing and assist with margin analysis. Prepare sales commissions, bonuses, accruals, and prepaid schedules. Coordinate external audit requests and year-end support. Maintain fixed asset schedules and balance sheet reconciliations. Identify accounting process improvements and automation opportunities. Support supervision and coaching of accounting staff, training, and performance management. Wrentham Office Management
