To Apply for this Job Click Here About the Opportunity This position offers the opportunity to oversee critical finance operations, lead process improvement initiatives, manage staff, and play a key role in budgeting, financial reporting, cash management, and capital project accounting. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on accounting and finance professional who enjoys balancing day-to-day operational oversight with strategic financial initiatives. Key Responsibilities Oversee accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and organizational policies. Manage budgeting activities, financial reporting, and general ledger functions. Lead cash management activities, including banking relationships, investments, treasury functions, and credit card administration. Oversee capital project accounting, reporting, and reimbursement processes. Coordinate annual audits and serve as a key liaison with external auditors and regulatory agencies. Review and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Partner with technology and reporting teams to enhance financial systems and reporting capabilities. Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and financial performance. Support month-end and year-end close processes, forecasting activities, and financial analysis. Supervise, mentor, and develop finance team members. Prepare financial reports for internal leadership, government agencies, and external stakeholders. Drive continuous process improvement initiatives across the finance function. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience. Prior supervisory or management experience preferred. Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. Experience with audits, cash management, and financial systems. Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Preferred Background Experience within higher education, nonprofit, government, or other complex organizational environments. Experience with capital project accounting, grant accounting, or fund accounting. CPA or CPA-track candidates are encouraged to apply.
